British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos announced on Wednesday night. The athlete was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on Monday, a horrific crash that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The sports star had remained in the hospital while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the commissioner stated.

Remembering the Victims

The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”

This update on his health arrives after the boxing community had expressed sympathy for the fighter in the aftermath of the devastating accident.
