FC Barcelona Ready for Historic Game at Upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend
Barça revealed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. Athletic Bilbao will visit Athletic Bilbao in the Spanish league over two years since relocating so building work could begin.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees will be allowed to watch as per the current authorization. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Recent Activities
Barcelona held a public practice on the home pitch earlier this month. Officials stated approval is being pursued from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side in December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at the Olympic Stadium.
