Rob Edwards and O'Neil Included in Wolves Managerial Candidates

Rob Edwards and Gary O'Neil are two of the early candidates in the frame to replace the former manager as head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The previous coach was sacked on the weekend following the team's 10-match winless beginning to the top-flight season.

And both candidates - both of who have previous associations to the team - are among the names to be evaluated by the Wolves ownership.

Edwards is currently at another club, which would create a potential obstacle to his hiring at Wolves' stadium.

Nevertheless the ex- Luton head coach - who played over a century of games for the club during his playing career - is considered a leading contender for the vacancy.

The 42-year-old is said to have support from the club board as they begin the process of hiring a fresh head coach.

O'Neil is additionally appearing as a unexpected contender, even though he would be a surprising choice given he was released by Wolves in the previous winter.

The former West Ham United player is out of work meaning the club would not be required to provide any buyout fee.
