The former president's Granddaughter Receives Expert Guidance from Golf Legend Woods Ahead of LPGA First Appearance
The rising star maintains considerable online presence
The young golfer will have plenty of well-known backers when she starts her LPGA debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who is connected to Donald Trump, received a sponsor's invitation to participate at the Annika competition in Florida.
The former president, someone who loves golf, owns multiple golf courses and frequently competes against Kai.
"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we have competitive games," she stated.
Kai explained that Trump, unable to come, advised her: "Simply don't get nervous."
"My grandpa essentially suggested to go out there and enjoy myself," she explained.
"To me, he's just an ordinary family member. He's not attending for the tournament. He's focused on presidential duties, so he's quite busy."
As an amateur, Kai has participated in only three events recently and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association rankings.
Yet she can get advice from golf legend, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He is the top athlete globally," Kai expressed.
"Furthermore, he's a superior human being. He suggested me to play, relax, following whatever happens."
She'll challenge multiple most prominent players in the sport at this tournament, such as world number two Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA mentioned that involving Kai brings the sport to new audiences, particularly with younger fans.
The social media influencer maintains millions of followers and has started an exclusive clothing and lifestyle company.
The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
