Two men have been charged following a luggage theft where a suspected pepper spray resulted in harm at London's Heathrow Airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of administering a noxious substance, as confirmed by court officials.

The charges follow an probe of an assault at the parking structure at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after getting out of a parking garage elevator, police said.

A young child was caught up in the incident during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.

The incident – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – caused disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a limited duration.
